TestimonialsWe sent professional guides the Auger Buddy for advanced field testing while they were out on the ice. They were used for several days under different weather conditions. You can read their ongoing responses at Catch-N.com. Here's some highlights of what they had to say: What a deal at ice fishing derbys and tournaments not to have an auger laying on the ice to have to pick up, trip over, and to have to replace the blade covers constantly! This product is very good quality and well constructed. Some expert good engineering went into this design. The tubing is welded well and powder coat painted with a good finish. The bolts you use with the plastic grips for tightening are a blessing and make the unit easy to take apart. Your stickers are high quality as are the plastic covers on the "handles" where your ice-drill sits. All round... I salute you in your quality and craftsmanship. Dave "Hoggie" Hoggard Auger Buddy went togher as easy as 1-2-3.. The last 2 days I have been using a trailer to get all my junk on to the ice. The Auger Buddy is first thing that comes off, then the auger. Now i'm free to drill holes and as many holes as i would like..then i'm off to fishing. Jon Chapman Saves on your back and if you slip the auger can't get damaged as easily. Also it seems safer in a couple ways. We also are not getting any younger so what ever can do to save on our backs is a great idea!!! Adam McDermott Nice unit! Well made with Quality materials. Rich Smith <*(((((()~(
More Testimonials I've been using the Auger Buddy for about 2+ years now and I have to say that it is an incredible product. Ok, I am a sucker for new toys but when I first saw the Auger Buddy at the Rockingham Sportsman Show I had my doubts and did not purchase it. But being the new toy collector that I am when Auger Buddy offered a special sale I broke down and bought one. My buddy, who is so frugal that moths emerge every time his wallett opens, thought I was nuts, "just strap the damn auger to a sled like we always do". Last weekend we headed north and I broke out my new toy. To give it a true test I pulled my sled (loaded with 30lbs of gear plus a Clam 680 shanty (another 90lbs.) and pushed teh Auger Buddy at the same time. The Auger Buddy drifted over the ice, never tiltin even when going over large snowmobile ruts. I actually was able to use onl one hand to move it. We tend to set our traps a long ways apart (up to 1/2 mile), especially when exploring new waters. Once the traps are set we make swiss cheese out of the ice cutting jigging holes (a 100 holes a ay is common). The Auger Buddy makes this process so much easier that after the first few holes I was chasing my buddy to get a chance to use it. At the end of the day he insisted on pushing it off the ice as he liked the way he could hold on to it. I told him he must be getting old especially if he needed a walker to get off the ice! If you walk a long ways to fish or cut a lot of holes this is one "toy" you cannot be without. It is the best money I have spent on fishing equipment this year. Finally for the skeptics in the audience, I have no connection with the company and I paid the full asking price for the product. This is one great product and a sponsor of NES! George, a.k.a. Codfisher,
THINGS YOU NEVER THINK ABOUT, CHAPTER 1 Anytime we think of “ice fishing” ( Which, to be honest, is almost NEVER ), we just assumed the holes were always in the ice. Shows you what we know. They're made by a power tool called an ice auger, which is basically a gas-powered corkscrew about five feet high. Who knew? And getting said auger from spot to spot to make holes in the ice is apparently a hassle. So the good people at New Hampshire's AugerBuddy.com are marketing their eponymous product. It's an upright sled-like product that you use to easily transport your auger, hence the name. But we especially like their Web site, and the video showing how well the thing works. The sheer beauty of the piece is in its simplicity. And we will admit we kept waiting for the guy in the video to fall through the ice. No such luck… |
